Brazilian Cyberdefence Portal
A Web Portal for cyberdefense and cybersecurity news

briefing
Tthe ODC case focused on designing a digital platform to make cyberdefense and cybersecurity information more accessible and organized. The goal was to create a centralized space that could support both government and public users, balancing transparency with security needs.
Solution
The Solution involved developing a user-centered web portal informed by detailed stakeholder research. This included a responsive interface, a clear information architecture, and a strong visual identity. The outcome was a cohesive platform supporting multiple user groups and contributing to national digital resilience.
the
approach
The project employed a Design Thinking methodology to develop the ODC platform. This iterative process involved understanding user needs, generating ideas, prototyping, and validating solutions. A crucial initial step was distinguishing between cybersecurity and cyberdefense to accurately define the project's scope. Comprehensive user research was conducted, identifying key stakeholders such as government officials, academia, researchers, civil society, and the private sector. Detailed personas were created for each stakeholder group to capture their specific needs and interactions with the platform. These insights guided the design and interaction models, which were documented and handed over to the development team for implementation.

The
Outcome
The project culminated in the creation of a comprehensive design solution that addressed the diverse needs of both internal and external audiences. The web portal facilitated access through public and secured connections, catering to various user groups. The project also included full branding work, marketing analysis, and product benchmarking, resulting in a cohesive and user-centered platform for cybersecurity and cyberdefense information dissemination.

Lessons Learned
Some of the challenges we faced in this project were related to gathering user requirements and validating the prototypes with the government side. Since it was a classified project for the military, we had little access to what type of documents and information they share over their private networks.
The whole design for ODC project was created over a 5-month period with another designer in the team. The ODC was handed to the Brazilian government to develop using their own resources and team. Further support was given to them, including providing design specifications, wireframes and user workflows and other design-related documents.
